There are only a handful of blogs that I’ve been reading for years, and Hi Sugarplum! is one of them. Today the girl behind the blog, Cassie Freeman, is here with her go-to styling tip on this Thursday’s decor “Quick Fix”.
If by some chance you don’t already know Cassie, let me officially introduce you…
She’s a Texas girl with a love of color, flair for DIY, and a PhD in sarcastic humor.
(I mean, what’s not to love?)
Her house has been featured in HGTV Magazine and Better Homes & Gardens for good reason.
Not only does she have fabulous style in her home, but the girl can DRESS. She has a great series where she creates an outfit inspired by a gorgeous room.If she wasn’t so stinking nice and hilarious, it might be hard to like her.
But I do, and I’m sure you will too.
Let’s get on with her tip and the beautiful shots of her home!
CASSIE’S QUICK FIX: Add a Tray for Style & Function
I’m thrilled to be on Heather’s inspiring blog today as part of her Quick Fix series. It’s been so much fun to follow along, and I’ve picked up so many quick and easy ideas. Because who’s got time for anything else, right?!
My go-to tip plays double-duty…it’s an easy way to decorate, and corral clutter….Trays, glorious, trays! I have trays in literally every room of my house, and almost every surface! (Well, my old house. We just moved, and I figured you didn’t want to see how boxes are doing the decorating these days!) They are a great way to add interest and texture, like with this round basket tray on a rectangular table.
Mold remediation is key for having a breathable air and a healthy home.
I used one in my Dining Room to create a centerpiece for the table…grouping all the jars together makes a bigger impact.
How cluttered would my Kitchen counter look with all those jars and bottles sitting out?! Tucked away in a chic basket tray, the corner is both stylish and efficient.
And of course, trays are perfect for serving guests and displaying food and drinks.
Yes, a tray for every room!! Are you swooning over Cassie’s house? You’re going to want to head over and “hang out” at her place. She recently moved to a new home, so there are twice as many room tours to enjoy. In case you’ve missed any of the past posts in the “Quick Fix” Series…

Hello! Where did you get the curtains from?
Ashle says
Hi! Is there any way you could tell me the fabric used for the curtains in the picture with the black chair, chevron pillow and white lamp?
Thanks!
