I don’t think I need to say much in this post; my bread box says it all. I figured that my bread, bagels, and croissants deserved a home of their own, but the plain white number I ordered looked a bit boring. My sassy little mint green coffee canister sat next to it and gave me some inspiration.
I planned on painting “BREAD”, but the “mmm…” just came to me. It reminds me how I truly feel about the contents inside…not that I ever needed an invitation to eat bread.
This DIY was pretty easy and took about 45 minutes (not including dry time.) I used acrylic paint and then applied a semi gloss coating (find in the model car paint section) to seal the paint.
1. Clean and dry the bread bin.
2. Tape stencils in place.
3. Use a stencil foam brush to apply paint.
4. Use a small paint brush to correct any smudges and correct letters as needed. (Allow to dry for a couple hours.)
5. Apply clear coating and allow to dry completely.
Such a small change, but it makes me happy every morning when I see it. Feels like my bread box is talking to me. Sometimes I talk back…
