What’s the Decor Fix all about?
It’s not about perfection…
It’s about a REAL HOME that’s safe for mistakes and messes.
It’s not about more “pretty stuff”…
It’s about finding the freedom of a SIMPLIFIED SPACE.
It’s not about the latest trends…
it’s about MEANINGFUL BEAUTY and INTENTIONAL CHOICES
that allow your story to play out in your home.
The Decor Fix is all about creating a space
that welcomes others in and allows you to live more fully.
Does this sound good to you?
Then you are in the right place, my friend!

HEATHER JAFRANI FREEMAN
Hi! I’m Heather, and I’m so glad you are here. (Really, I am.) I wish I could reach though the screen to pour you a cup of coffee and pull up a comfy chair.
I created this space for you. And for me. And for anyone who longs for a home filled with simple and meaningful beauty. My passion is helping you get “unstuck” and discover the joy of a home that reflects your style and functions for your family.
-A house that’s free of clutter weighing you down.
-A space that reflects and feels like YOU.
-A home that works for you and your people.
After working with clients from places like California to Switzerland and everywhere in between, I’ve learned this…The struggle to create a home you love is universal.
The last thing you should feel in your home is discomfort.
But sometimes we get stuck…We compare, ignore, or resent our home wishing it could be different but feeling helpless to make any real change. Maybe motherhood has brought ALL.THE.THINGS into your home and you feel like you are drowning in “stuff”. Or perhaps your home is a hodge-podge of things that don’t reflect your style. I can tell you this…it won’t happen overnight, but YOU CAN make great strides in your home with guidance and intention.
Here’s What I Have Learned…
– Home isn’t just where we escape from
the busyness of life…it’s where life happens.
– Your home should be a haven that relieves
stress…not the other way around.
– Your home should reflect your story and
inspire you for what comes next.
Stop waiting until you have more money or your kids are older or you finally feel ready…Start creating a home you love NOW.
Once you get clear on the purpose your particular home serves and learn to make decisions with intention, you are on your way to a home that reflects you and works for your family.
And that, dear friend, is life-changing.
Much love,
Heather
THE FAM
I’m a wife and mom. These two roles are the greatest privileges and joys in my life. One minute I’m laughing and the next I’m crying, but I am always thankful.
MY HOME
After my husband and I bought our first home, I felt totally helpless when it came to decorating. I desperately ached for a beautiful space that reflected my style, yet I felt totally overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start. After years of taking risks, making tons of mistakes, and learning everything I could about decorating, things finally clicked. Perfection was no longer the goal. My home became my canvas and taught me so much about creativity and community.
After selling our first home, we downsized to a mid-century ranch style home. We are living with less stuff, less stress, and would now call ourselves “essentialists”.
MY WORK
Soon friends and family started asking for help with their homes. Empowering others to transform their space brought me a sense of purpose and joy I’d never felt before. In 2013, I left my full-time teaching job to focus solely on one-to-one client work. For five years I worked with clients all over the globe using a hybrid of interior design & teaching for a method I created called Decor Coaching. I’ve had the privilege to work with over 150 design clients and over 400 students in my online course. I also worked locally in both Texas and Missouri as a design consultant and stylist.
After becoming a momma to two “littles” under 5, I realized that running a business full-time was not for me. I missed the classroom-where I had spent 10 years. Currently, I teach world history to middle school students. So many things in the world right now seem broken and hopeless. Inspiring middle school students to understand the themes in the rise and fall of ancient civilizations and to see their place in history gives me a bit of hope for the future.
Life can be hard. Your home should be a place where you feel seen, loved, and safe. Creating a space that both reflects and comforts you and your people is worth the time and resources it takes.
