No matter how hard I try to convince myself, deep down I know that black yoga pants and a graphic tee from Target is not fashion forward. After living in that uniform for 6 months, some baby weight is finally coming off. Now I’m left trying to figure out how to update my look but clueless where to even begin. Since fashion is always an area I struggle in, I asked my friend Kat for some help. A fellow Missourian and one of the most gorgeous girls I’ve met, Kat writes about fashion on her blog JADATO (stands for “just another day at the office”). She’s here to share four great looks for fall with us today.
Fall Fashion by Kat from JADATO
Hello friends! I met Heather through an ex-boyfriend. Even though the boyfriend didn’t last our friendship sure did. When she asked me to do a guest post about Fall Fashion I was MORE than happy to write a little something.
I am going to recommend four fall trends coming up this season. Please understand I am all about being frugal; any of the clothing I suggest are simply guides to find something similar cheaper. I am a Kansas City girl and love the following shopping options: ATC in Westport, Catholic Charity Shop, and Goodwill. I am a big fan of research and wanted to look at what looks are coming up for Fall. Harper’s Bazaar gave me a good guide of where to start looking for upcoming trends. I chose a few of my favorite recommendations out of their list to start implementing into my wardrobe.
Designers for fall decided to take a break away from boring black and white and filled their runways with varying shades of charcoals. The nice thing about grey is it looks great on everyone and can be a perfect neutral for wearing a lot accessories on top. I like the pop of pink with grey for a night out with a loved one or fun time with the girls for happy hour. Finally, can I say how Faboosh it is to wear black tights and then layer on top some knit black leg warmers with heels? SWOON.
I love these two words together and they describe this Fall’s 2013 trend so on point. Everything is running back toward nature inspired prints with warm knits, knee length boots, and faux (or real) trimmed jackets. A strong pattern does this Fall look justice and can really tie a simple outfit together.
Block Party Colors
This is a trend that I haven’t been the best at implementing in the past but I want to change! I am always in a constant struggle to keep my outfits minimal but still be different from the rest. Ladies, layer those colors boldly and walk like you own them.
This by far is my favorite of upcoming Fall trends because it is beautiful on every skin tone. Don’t you agree that is a rare thing to say for most colors? The point is to wear lots of green this fall. Whether you live in The Midwest, The West Coast, or The East Coast, it is going to look great on you! PS-this old prom dress green bottom with such a casual block top has to be one of my all time favorite outfits + the large jewelry statement pieces
